Ottmar Ette

Ottmar Ette (14 December 1956 in the Black Forest) is a Romanist and comparator (Professor of Romance Philology and Comparative Literature) at the University of Potsdam, Germany since 1995. Doctorate in 1990 at the University of Freiburg with a thesis on Jose Marti. Between 1987 and 1995 he was an assistant professor at the Catholic University of Eichstaett-Ingolstadt, at the end of which he presented a qualification thesis on Roland Barthes. He has been a visiting professor at different Latin American, European and United States universities. Between 2004-2005 he was a guest researcher at the Wissenschaftskolleg zu Berlin (Institute for Advanced Study) and co-founder of the Postgraduate College DFG-Graduiertenkolleg "lebensformen + lebenswissen" (since 2006), as well as the International Postgraduate College DFG-Graduiertenkolleg "Between Spaces Movements, Actors and Representations of Globalization "(since 2009). Ottmar Ette is co-founder of ForLaBB (Research Network on Latin America in Berlin-Brandenburg) 2 and from April 2010 to July 2010 guest researcher of the FRIAS (Freiburg Institute for Advanced Studies). He is also founder and co - editor of the electronic magazine HiN - Alexander von Humboldt im Netz, ISSN 1617-5239 and of the humboldtian platform of studies avhumboldt.de - Humboldt Informationen online, as well as coeditor of the magazine Iberoamericana (Madrid - Frankfurt am Main ). Since 2009 he has also been co-editor of the electronic magazine Istmo - Virtual Magazine of Central American Literary and Cultural Studies, ISSN 1535-2315
