Pablo Oyarzun Robles

Philosopher, essayist, translator and critic, studied biology (partially), Philosophy, Literature and History at the University of Chile, Theology (partially) at the Catholic University of Chile and Philosophy at the Johann Wolfgang von Goethe University in Frankfurt.

He is Professor of Philosophy and Aesthetics at the University of Chile and Metaphysics and Modern and Contemporary Philosophy at the Pontifical Catholic University of Chile, and Director of the Central Research Seminar of the Catholic University of Valparaiso. He has been visiting professor at Venezuela, Argentina, Colombia, the Netherlands and the United States, and lecturer at various universities and centers of Europe, USA and Latin America. Professor guide to more than 100 postgraduate students, of which about 40 are graduate, has trained over 40 new academics, several of whom have worked or work in foreign universities.

It has more than 400 publications including books, book chapters, essays, articles and reviews on topics of metaphysics and ontology, moral and political philosophy, epistemology, philosophy of language, aesthetics and art criticism and theory and literature, culture, education and policy. He has also published translations of works by Epicurus, Pseudo-Longinus, Swift, Kant, Baudelaire, Kleist, Benjamin and Celan. Since 1975 it has sponsored 29 projects, 23 of them with uninterrupted basis since 1987, 16 of which, to date, have been obtained in FONDECYT contests. He has participated in about 130 conferences, symposia and seminars, most of them international, as exhibitor and member of organizing committees, also maintaining a constant activity of extension, through the enactment of conferences and participation in panels and roundtables in Chile and abroad. Integrates various publishers publications inside and outside the country councils.
