When the July 24, 1967 Celan read some of his poems in Freiburg im Breisgau, Heidegger was part of the audience. The next day they met at the cabin of Todtnauberg, that brief refuge attached to the gentle slope of a hill in the Black Forest where he used to retire the philosopher to sink into his brooding craft - "weave the average of the mystery" - was holding the pace of discrete and walks everyday tasks.
