Peter Kurzeck (Tachau, 1943 - Frankfurt, 2013) is considered one of the most relevant German writers of this century. In his work, almost entirely autobiographical, he offers a very richly detailed portrait of life in Frankfurt and the province of Hessen during the eighties and nineties. With a solid work and a peculiar syntax, sometimes reminiscent of Arno Schmidt or Uwe Johnson, Kurzeck was for many years one of the strongest German candidates for the Nobel Prize.
