Pierre Commelin (Noyal Mullizac, 1837-Paris, 1926) was one of the great translators and writers of his generation. Professor at various educational institutions in Niort and Paris, he translated the great works of classical authors and left the present book written which, from La Esfera, we recover as an essential and reference work of mythological literature.
