Pierre-Thomas-Nicolas Hurtaut

Pierre-Thomas-Nicolas Hurtaut (Paris, 1719 - 1791). He worked as a Latin teacher at the Military School and published his first book in 1748, Le Voyage d'Aniers. Interested in the mysteries of the human body, he dedicated several books to this subject, among them L'Art de péter and the Essai de médecine sur le flux menstruel, parodying medical treatises. In addition, he was a historian and member of the "Société du bout du banc", one of the most famous literary salons of the 18th century.
