Robert Coover was born in Iowa in 1932 and graduated from Indiana University with a degree in Slavic Studies. He was in the United States Navy. In 1965 he received a BA from the University of Chicago. He is a professor emeritus at Brown University in Providence, Rhode Island. His work is extensive and widely recognized. Includes novels such as The Origin of the Brunistas, The Universal Baseball Association, Inc., The Public Bonfire, Gerald's Party (Anagram), Pinocchio in Venice, and Noir (Galaxy Gutenberg).
