
Rocío Cárdenas Pacheco was born in Monterrey, Mexico, in 1975. She holds a PhD in Social Sciences and Humanities from the Autonomous Metropolitan University (UAM) Cuajimalpa (2017). She holds a Master's degree in Arts with an emphasis on Cultural Diffusion from the Faculty of Visual Arts at the Autonomous University of Nuevo León (2001). Her research focuses on linking artistic relationships and practices to political and identity contexts through the generation and reconstruction of archives. She has curated various exhibitions and, as an art critic, has contributed to magazines such as ArtNexus and Letras Libres. In 2011, she published the book "Contemporary Art Revisited in Monterrey. The Messages of the Present and the Past Arrive Too Late."
