Santiago Corcuera Cabezut

Santiago Corcuera Cabezut is a member of the UN Committee against Forced Disappearance from 2013 to 2017. He was a member of the UN Working Group on Forced Disappearances for six years (2004 - 2010) and its president for three years (2006 - 2009 ). He was President of the Coordinating Committee of Special Procedures of the UN Human Rights Council (2009 - 2010). He was a member of the Council of the Human Rights Commission of the Federal District for eleven years (until 2012). He is a member of the Consultative Assembly of the National Council to Prevent Discrimination (CONAPRED). With his advice, he accompanies organizations of relatives of victims of forced disappearance. At the Universidad Iberoamericana, he was Director of the Department of Law during the period 1996 - 1997; coordinator of the Human Rights program between 1998 and 2003; Coordinator of the Master of Human Rights since its foundation, in 2000, until 2005. He is the author of the book Constitutional Law and International Human Rights Law published by Oxford Press Mexico, among other works on the subject.
