Seth J. Gillihan

Psychologist Seth J. Gillihan is Professor of Psychology in the Department of Psychiatry at the University of Pennsylvania. He has contributed to several books and has written more than forty articles on the functioning and efficacy of cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) in treating anxiety and depression, and on the use of brain imaging to study psychiatric disorders. He is the author of Retrain Your Brain: Cognitive Behavioral Therapy in 7 Weeks, a manual for managing depression and anxiety, and a co-author, with Janet Singer, of Overcoming OCD: A Journey to Recovery. Gillihan develops his clinical work in Haverford, Pennsylvania, where he has specialized in cognitive behavioral therapy and mindfulness-based treatments to treat anxiety, depression, and other related disorders.
