Sol LeWitt (September 9, 1928, Hartford, Connecticut, -April 8, 2007, New York) was an artist linked to various movements, such as conceptual art and minimalism. Painting, drawing, photography, and structures (a term he preferred to sculpture) are his predominant artistic media. It has been the subject of hundreds of solo exhibitions in museums and galleries around the world since 1965.
