Sonny Liew (1974) was born in Seremban (Malaysia) although he lives in Singapore. He is a comic book author, painter and illustrator, known for The Art of Charlie Chan Hock Chye (Dibbuks), his first graphic novel for which he won the Singapore Prize for Literature for this fiction in 2016. In 1995 he made his first foray in the world of comics for The New Paper newspaper, creating the comic strip Frankie and Poo. In 1996 the Times Books publishing house published a compilation of these strips. Throughout his professional career, he has worked for major publishers such as Marvel Comics, Vertigo Comics and Delcourt, among others.
