He is co-founder and associate researcher of the Brief Family Therapy Center of Milwaukee. He is the author of numerous articles and the books Putting Difference at Work, Clues: Investigating Solutions in Brief Therapy (published in Spanish by Gedisa under the title Short Family Therapy Keys, A Theory of the Solution), Keys to Solution in Brief Therapy and Patterns of Brief Family Therapy. De Shazer is a member of the editorial team of several magazines and has worked as a therapist and has taught courses in many places in North America, Europe, Australia and Asia.
