
Professor-researcher of History at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. He obtained a doctorate in Latin American History from the University of California, San Diego, in 2001. His book "Rural Resistance in the Land of Zapata: The Jaramillista Movement and the Myth of the Pax Priísta, 1940-1962" ―presented here by first time in Spanish― was published by Duke University Press in 2008. She is the editor of "El campesinado y su persistencia en la Actualidad Mexicana" (2013) and is currently working on a study on rural normals in the post-revolutionary period, entitled "The Unintended Lessons." of Revolution: School Teachers in the Mexican Countryside, 1940-1980
