Vivek Chibber (1965) is an American sociologist of Hindu origin. A professor of sociology at New York University, a student himself of the recently deceased Erik O. Wright, Chibber is a renowned specialist in imperialism, Marxist theory, and the political economy of development, as well as editor of Catalyst: A Journal of Theory and Strategy.
