Walter Jaeschke is the Director of the Hegel-Archiv de Bochum. He is known for his new and critical critical editions of the philosophy of religion lessons and the history lessons of Hegel's philosophy.

In 2003 he published a complete reconstruction of the life and writings of Hegel as well as of the Vorlesungsnachschriften (the transcript of the students' notes of the university lessons taught by Hegel). In Spanish Hegel has been published: The conscience of modernity.
