Walter Kappacher

Born in Salzburg, Austria, in 1938 age 15, dropped out. Fan of motorcycle racing, worked as a mechanic, and after military service, studied theater and also served for years in a travel agency. He began publishing his stories in the mid-sixties. In the following decade, he established himself as a professional writer outside the literary world. Büchner Winner 2009 Award is considered one of the best contemporary Austrian authors. Among other novels, is the author of Die Werkstatt ("Workshop"), De Amateur, Silberpfeile ("Silver Arrows"), Der lange brief ("The long letter") 7 Der Fliegenpalast ("The Palace of the Flies") . With "Selina or afterlife" Kappacher-which remained unpublished until the Spanish language translation of this novel-achieved international recognition.
