Wilfred R. Bion

Born in India, where he lived until age eight. Son of a minor employee of the British colony, was raised with the privileges of the settlers in India. He then moved to London where he began a life of domestic, with few visits from their parents. It was developed as a great sportsman, especially in swimming and water polo. He became team captain. His autobiographical writings and reveal, in those years, a look of very special world, disturbed the common sense of social repression. Bion participated in two world wars, being honored as a hero and, second, an experience that marks it as overwhelming and that will be part of both their theoretical elaborations and personal in his writings. Later, it being already quite mature, is formed as a physician, psychiatrist and psychoanalyst after the International Psychoanalytic Association in London, becoming president of the local branch of British society
