Ediciones del Serbal was founded in Barcelona in 1979. Its publications are mainly aimed at the fields of science, art and the humanities in general, among which are collections such as 'Artistic Culture', focusing exclusively on art and restoration themes ; 'The polar star', always in the field of social sciences but inclined towards geography, urbanism, history and philosophy; 'Delos', on contemporary philosophy; 'Res publica', collection dedicated to citizen participation; 'Antigone', of psychoanalysis; or the 'Lexicography' collection, consisting of bilingual dictionaries and language courses. In addition, collections such as 'Arquitectura', 'El biblionauta' or 'El arte de vivir', which include technical books, informative books and narrative in general, complete a living fund of more than 200 titles. In 1996 Ediciones del Serbal began the publication of textbooks for primary education, ESO and baccalaureate, highlighting the project of Physical Education, pioneer in this subject and whose adaptation by the schools continues to be dominant in practically all of the state. Since 2008, and abreast of the new digital trends of support and reading, Ediciones del Serbal has been gradually digitizing its editorial background, and in 2010 presents its first digital education project for the subject of Physical Education.
