In the magical climate that surrounds the acts and feelings of the characters in this story, we discover one of the most recurring themes in Moroccan culture: witchcraft as a means of achieving or undoing love. Mohamed and Mina are the two marginal young people who star in this gruesome love story marked by spells, filters, hexes and poisons. An action that contrasts with the cosmopolitan seduction of the international Tangier where it takes place and with the peculiar friendship relationship that Mohamed maintains with Mr. David, an English owner of a small hotel. Love for a Fistful of Hairs was published in 1967 and was the first result of a long literary collaboration between Paul Bowles and Mohamed Mrabet.
