In 2003, a group of researchers from the Faculty of Superior Studies (FES) Acatlán met to exchange and discuss different points of view regarding the globalization process that has impacted the different areas of scientific knowledge. This in order to enrich the teaching exercise that each one of them performs within the FES Acatlán.
This is the origin of the proposal to bring together professionals from national and international institutions, whose common characteristic is interest in topics that combine the phenomenon of globalization with the economy, sociology, history, philosophy and international relations.
This proposal manages to be consolidated thanks to the approval of the PAPIME Project granted by the General Directorate of Academic Personnel Affairs of the UNAM entitled Analysis and perspectives of globalization: A theoretical debate, registered: EN309803 and with the support of the FES Acatlán.
This work is divided into two volumes. Volume I contains research in which various theories are raised about globalization and its repercussions on some economic-social sectors. In volume II are those investigations with empirical application on the effects of globalization in the national economy, Latin America and East Asia, environmental economics, migration, human rights, wages and work.
This book also concentrates some of the works that were presented in the series of conferences that took place at the FES Acatlán Seminary Unit, from May 6 to June 17, 2003. This is a multidisciplinary material that It can serve as support and guide for teachers, students and the general public interested in the subject.
