Yearning for destruction. Reflections on Power, Violence and Culture is an atypical book of essays: without biasing its rigor and depth, it is extremely interesting in the problematization and interpretation of issues such as power and violence. These phenomena are not examined by Francisco Pamplona independently of their historicity, but rather the author opts for his analysis and the development of his corpus from the cultural sphere in which they are carried out.
Based on the diagnosis of the relationship between the social sciences and the humanities and how both spheres complement each other for the understanding of power and violence from their fields of knowledge, Pamplona poses a question as a discursive thread in its texts: of destruction of the twentieth and twenty-first centuries prevent a culture of relief in the midst of bewilderment?
