Ayurveda, "the science of old age and health," is India's oldest and most famous system of natural medicine. Considered as a complement to Atharva-veda, the wisdom of Ayurveda teaches us that each of us has a specific constitution, which is what should guide us when choosing the type of food, the pace of work, the way to rest, and so on.
The three basic types established by Ayurveda are Kafa, Vata and Pita -with their corresponding combinations-. Thus, for example, people of the Kafa type are stable, somewhat slow and self-satisfied; Consequently, they need strong motivation and encouragement.
