The art of the twentieth century has profoundly affected the categories of idealist aesthetics, which, however, is proposed as an adequate theoretical framework for the understanding of current art. Peter Bürger's book addresses his criticism on the horizon of the situation created by current art and in the analysis of the limits of the criticisms made by Adorno, Benjamin and Gadamer.
