The work analyzes and describes, in a comprehensive manner, the different dimensions of the study of photography, both from the perspective of technique and from the specific perspectives of language, the attitude of the photographer and history. In addition to the iconolinguistic analysis based on the theories of communication, semiology or the consideration of the aesthetic evolution of images, the technical study of the evolution of materials and technology, and the historical description of the photographic medium through investigation of sources, archives, collections and museums, 'From noise to art' emphasizes, above all, the study of the technological evolution of tools and their influence on photographic images, both in their reading as in the aesthetics produced. In particular, regarding the consideration of the influence of technology on the photographic medium, this book focuses on the decisive change suffered by photography through the great impact of the various technical and scientific discoveries of different kinds that cause its transformation and development until ensuring that these aesthetic peculiarities are assumed naturally by viewers and camera users.
