Privatization is the form of capital accumulation that has predominated during the last three decades of the 20th century and the first of the 21st in both developed and developing countries and in those of the former “socialist bloc.” This is a peculiar type of accumulation by dispossession.
The object of this research is the privatization processes in Mexico during this period.
Its common thread is the thesis that in the face of the economic crisis, surplus capital has sought to gain value in public, collective and community economic areas through the plunder of goods, resources, knowledge and properties. Hence the requirement to put the assets in the custody of the Welfare State up for sale and the modification of the pattern of domination associated with it.
