On October 11, 1998 John Paul II canonized the first saint of the modern world Jewish, Edith Stein. Feldmann has summarized the salient features of the biography of this great woman, without doubt one of the most moving and convincing witnesses of the twentieth century. This work reflects the richness of his life and personality: his insatiable quest for truth, his activity as teacher and as an advocate for the rights of women in society in general and more specifically in the Church, his interest in the reconciliation of Christians and Jews, and finally, his solidarity with his people stalked, hunted and destroyed, a victim, like her, the Holocaust.
