Entre naturaleza y democracia
The urban park shelters an immense variety of meanings that come, on the one hand, from the long-standing and changing idea of nature, housed in the notions of paradise, countryside in the city and identity landscape. On the other hand, it is a reflection of the most modern idea of democracy, housed in the notion of providing health, beauty, culture and recreational space, to an urban environment in full transformation from a baroque city to a nineteenth-century industrialized city, a symbol of progress and civilization. The urban park is a detonator of unimaginable benefits, a place in the city that allows the creation of community, but whose fragility implies great care on the part of the actors involved in its location, design, construction, maintenance, administration and use.
