Neurocognitive rehabilitation has recently become a technique present in most clinical guidelines for the treatment of severe mental disorders such as schizophrenia. From a historical and conceptual analysis presents a model called neuro-cognitive-behavioral stresses the need to address neurocognitive dysfunction in a therapeutic context enclosed in a comprehensive psychosocial rehabilitation process. In the present work gives an overview of the techniques and procedures for both the evaluation and the intervention based on theoretical models with empirical evidence demonstrated. Finally, we present a method to customize the intervention using neuropsychological techniques have proven more effective in controlled studies.
