Through the immersion in the work and the cinematographic thought of David Lynch, David Cronenberg, Béla Tarr and Nicolás Pereda, the author tries in the works included in the present volume the creation of operative concepts (image-fractal, image-repetition, Ritornelo, de-dramatization ...) that articulate a philosophy of cinema at the same time as they think, express and try to preserve the singularity of each film exposing the expressive resources of each author.

     For Jorge Ayala Blanco, author of the book's prologue, it is encouraging to see that in our Mexico, through Sonia Rangel, philosophy is cultivated "as a particular and generalizing language, claiming with great dignity its place among the valid approaches of current cinema" . "The reading of these essays," he adds, "refers to the need to refocus the works of filmmakers who were already known as if they were again new, unknown and full of entrances and possibilities of interpretation completely unsuspected."
