The essays that make up this volume are texts that were scattered, lost, almost inaccessible. In that period, a critical and decolonial thinking that was for a long time intuitive, we could say avant la lettre, was fermenting in the treatment of the different fields present in this volume: patriarchy as original violence, the failure of punitivism as a goal of Justice, what museums do not understand – about Eurocentrism and its intrinsically racist character. the open wound of Palestine, anthropology versus religion and ethics and, at the end of the anthology, the texts on the author who defined the critical perspective of the coloniality of power and his way of thinking about the world from Latin America, Aníbal Quijano. The disobediences in which these texts incur are of various kinds. What they have in common, however, is the fact that they always address the different issues through their facet left in the shadows, invisible, in their usual treatments. Reading is done through the back door, through the dark side of each subject. On one occasion I was sitting at a table with some colleagues, among whom was a famous journalist, Reynaldo Sietecase. I had just been appointed head of a newly created chair at the National University of San Martín, when my phone rang urging me to give it a name. As I couldn't find an answer, my journalist friend from the other side of the table said in a high-sounding voice: "Rita Segato Chair of uncomfortable thinking!" Perplexed, I asked her, "And why should it be called that?" He replied: "Rita, when you think, you make you uncomfortable."
