We can all recognize ourselves, at some point, as "fans" of something, and any cultural object can become the trigger and support of a fanaticism. Music and musicians –from cumbia or romantic music–, novels and their protagonists –whether in television fiction or literature–, sports and athletes, comics –such as manga and anime–, series and films, video games or digital content; all of them can be the origin of fanaticism; as can food, drinks, seasons, artistic works or even ideals and political figures. These cultural products have generated an infinity of fanatical practices, as abundant as the studies produced to analyze them have been scarce.
