With the volume dedicated to the «Ibero-American Philosophy of the XX Century» the editorial project of the Ibero-American Encyclopedia of Philosophy concludes. Obeying a dual pretension, practical and theoretical, it puts in the hands of the reader a tour of the Hispanic and Portuguese-speaking themes and authors of that period, reflecting at the same time on the peculiarity of its contribution to philosophical language.
The rigorous treatment of these issues has forced to divide the work into two parts. If the first is devoted to theoretical philosophy and history of philosophy, this second, on practical philosophy and philosophy of culture, deals with matters such as the philosophy of history, the philosophy of religion, ethics, political philosophy and philosophy of law, aesthetics, philosophy of culture, literature and essay. A useful overview of the philosophical production in the Spanish and Portuguese speaking countries is articulated, a community with a growing degree of originality, autonomy and scientific level.
