Diego Fonseca (Las Varillas, June 21, 1970) is an Argentine journalist, writer, and editor

Diego Fonseca began his journalistic activity as a radio reporter in 1988. A short time later he would turn to radio and television production. His career gained prominence in graphic media as a specialist in economics.

He worked for the newspaper La Voz del Interior, Mercado magazine, one of the largest specialized publications in Argentina, and various regional media. In late 2001, Fonseca moved to Mexico City as editor for Latin America of the prestigious economy and finance magazine AméricaEconomía. There he was also responsible for launching the local edition and created and directed LUK, a narrative journalism publication. After leaving AméricaEconomía in 2007, he moved to Miami as editor of a specialized magazine. In 2009 he moved to Washington, DC, where he works as an editor and consultant.

In 2011 he was invited to join the renowned literary journalism magazine Label Negra as associate editor. He was responsible for the web relaunch of the magazine.

Fonseca is a columnist for The New York Times and has written for El País, El Confidencial and Eldiario.es in Spain. His journalistic work has been published in numerous media in Latin America, Europe and the United States, including El Malpensante, Gatopardo, Esquire, El País, Letras Libres, El Estado Mental, El Universal, Reforma and El Confidencial. Fonseca has an enveloping style, marked by the search for the depth of the themes and a careful handling of the language.

As an editor, his work has proposed new perspectives on Latin American politics, culture and society, the relationship between the United States and Latinos, and the growth of Latin America.

He is a visiting professor at ESADE Law & Business School, INCAE Busines School in Costa Rica and has held master classes at the University of North Carolina at Wilmington, Arizona State University, DePauw University, Universidad Nacional de Córdoba, among others.

Fonseca teaches narrative journalism production and editing workshops. He is a teacher at the Gabriel García Márquez Foundation for the New Ibero-American Journalism and the author and editor of journalism, novels and stories.
