Love stories between Samurai is a selection of narratives about the life and customs of Japanese warrior caste, for which relations of fidelity and mutual devotion between men -including sexual aspects - were common.
The history of homosexuality in Japan has records since before the 8th century, not considered at that time as an inadequate or abnormal behavior. Among the samurai was allowed and considered a normal practice. In this series of stories the main theme is homosexual relationships between samurai, their manceburs or their colleagues. The stories deal mainly with love (of all kinds), honor, jealousy, revenge and precepts and samurai protocols (such as the Harakiri).
