Digital photography has recently shifted to chemical photography as majoritarian system, which causes a great assessment of the first and new challenges and concepts in the production and preservation of digital photography if we want to bequeath to future generations a valuable and fragile heritage as the photo. First of all we use for identification specifically to which of the multiple procedures that include under the name of photography we find ourselves is not the same a platinotype a daguerreotype, a slide or digital file. Each procedure will require their own conditions. To identify and preserve our photographic heritage we must consider both its history and its materials and media in order to be able to provide appropriate conditions for each case and know what problems we can face them when an appropriate response. Digital photography, as well as new perspectives, is a challenge that must be managed with knowledge, both when used as support for the preservation of chemical photographs as digital files.
