Each generation is obliged to tell the history of philosophy. It constitutes not only a moral responsibility with the past, but a commitment to the future. By highlighting some authors and some ideas above others, deep down he is pointing out the certainties that support and justify his way of seeing reality and acting in it.

After the first volume, focused on ancient and medieval philosophy, and the second, which deals with the Modern Age, this original history of thought concludes with the volume dedicated to the nineteenth and twentieth centuries.

Kant and his philosophy mark the beginning of a new stage that continues to this day. In it there are currents such as idealism, pragmatism, existentialism, phenomenology, analytical philosophy or hermeneutics, to name just a few of those that have shaped the current reflection.

Miguel García-Baró is a professor of philosophy at the Comillas Pontifical University (Madrid) and a visiting professor at different universities in Europe and America. In 2018 he was elected academic number of the Royal Academy of Moral and Political Sciences.
