Klara is an AA, an Artificial Friend, specialized in childcare. She spends her days in a store, waiting for someone to buy her and take her to a house, a home. While she waits, she looks outside from the shop window. She observes the passers-by, their attitudes, their gestures, their way of walking, and she witnesses some episodes that she does not quite understand, such as a strange fight between two taxi drivers.
