Carlos Pereda is an Emeritus Researcher at the Institute of Philosophical Research of the UNAM and the National System of Researchers. He has been a visiting professor at several universities in America and Europe. He has published the books Debates (1987); Conversing is human (1991); Reason and uncertainty (1994); Plot vertigo. In 1998 he received the UNAM Prize for Research in the Humanities and in 2008 the Siglo XXI International Essay Prize for his book Los apprentices del exilio.
