Myth is a powerful tool: reason requires time, attention, education, or a method; however, the myth requires little or no effort for it to be engraved in our memory and fixed as a symbol of our culture. It resorts to the imagination, it plays with the sensitivity, it is transmitted with simplicity and efficiency; that is why it is the ideal vehicle for the propagation of what is considered universal. Although, it is also a formidable weapon in the hands of demagogues. In this ambivalent way is how myth structures our culture.
From Sisyphus to Che Guevara through the "eternal return" or the Mona Lisa, Batman or Santa Claus, in this work 100 myths of the past and present are analyzed, both for what they reveal and for what they hide from us.
