This manual is an absolute novelty in Castilian resources to approach this fascinating and almost inaccessible world still is the Chinese language. But not only is noteworthy novelty. This manual is made with as rigorous and precise criteria that surpasses almost all works devoted to this subject in other languages.  One aim of the author is to allow the reader to grasp the spirit of the Chinese language, which is the first step in the arduous path of specialization.  The exhibition focuses on the modern or ordinary Chinese, imposed in the early twentieth century and is divided into five levels: character, word, phrase, text and context. It is also structured in two main sections. The first provides an overview of os distinctive features of the Chinese language that may be of most interest to the translator, the second tries to solve in practice the main difficulties that usually appear in the early stages of translation.  To address didactically basic problems of translation from Chinese into Castilian necessary to identify the major difficulties of the Chinese language from the point of view contrastive. The author draws on the wealth of Chinese literature in these linguistic features but also on personal experience as a translator and practical work with students from the Chinese translation. The abundance of examples of texts, ordered by their progressive degree of difficulty help train and deepen the understanding and practice of translation that the author states specifically from the perspective of contextual reading
