This is a book about the spiritual quest and the frustrations that come with it. It has to do with the ultimate goals that we impose on ourselves: enlightenment, awakening, liberation; objectives that can never be achieved because –and this is the great discovery of the author– the person who tries to achieve them has no more reality than a belief-that-emerges-in-the-present. The spiritual search is based on the assumption that there is a seeking self, but the truth is that the self is just a thought that occurs in the present moment.
