In 1910, Pancho Villa led a rebellion against wealthy landowners and fought to redistribute land to poor Mexicans who worked it for landowners, in what was called "the first socialist revolution." Originally published as a series of newspaper articles for the Metropolitan Magazine, Mexico insurgent chronicles the Mexican Revolution, written by John Reed while living with Mexican rebels, being friends with Pancho Villa and fighting Mexican government forces. The illustrator Alberto Gamón accompanies us with his great graphic work to the Mexico of the early twentieth century.
