New Formats, New Imaginaries is a publication that revolves around how new processes, formats, and contexts of knowledge production raise new questions that must be addressed from critical spatial practices. Straddling the physical and digital worlds, they demand new aesthetics and new imaginaries. Have they democratized access to certain discussions, or do they, on the contrary, privilege a select few? Have they been able to construct new aesthetics through which to interrogate new realities and connect with other audiences? Is it possible to rethink the extent to which the media and mechanisms currently used are conditioning our spatial practices? Or, to consider it the other way around, to what extent should new architectural sensibilities, concerns, and agencies be encapsulated in outdated formats, or do they require new mechanisms capable of making these new practices visible?
