"Pieces on art" brings together the texts of Paul Valéry (1871-1945) on plastic arts, texts in no way academic in which literature and music intersect, and in which a world as complex as it is brilliant is configured. Some of them have become classics, this is the case, for example, with the one dedicated to Degas, but those he writes about Corot, Manet or Berthe Morisot are not far behind, without forgetting those dealing with the material aspect of art, be it sculpture or ceramics.
With the publication of «Pieces on art», «La balsa de la Medusa» continues the edition of the poet's complete prose, a work in which the poetry, music and art of our time find different perspectives, unprecedented approaches to extraordinary rigor and purity.
