Is it possible to find authors in the modern West who, without religious affiliation, show a genuinely liberating path to Truth?
Following the great philosopher Baruch Spinoza, Nacho Bañeras argues that the only freedom available to us is to distance ourselves from what we believe ourselves to be, an abstract concept to which we cling out of ignorance, fear, and habit.
Once this construct is unveiled, we can access the experience of Unity that characterizes us, whose vibration is Joy (being in enthusiasm, en-theos). To this end, Spinoza offers the bodily path, self-knowledge, logic, the virtuous life, and the contemplative life—all interconnected, like Life itself, of which they are manifestations.
