In recent years, there has been significant progress in the Arabist reflection with the introduction of the Science of Translation in universities, with their degrees and Faculties of Translation and Interpreting, and also because the first attempts at joint reflection on meetings and conferences. Without pretending to exhaust all subjects, this volume aims to introduce the reader interested in some aspects of cultural and linguistic relations between two universes nearby and differentiated, Arabic and Hispanic, and facilitate new areas of reflection for students and specialists.  The eight chapters show how far you have to take into account the contexts and traditions in the various disciplines and eras that can belong to a given text. The authors analyze religious, historiographical, philosophical, legal, medical and modern classical narrative texts, noting in each case the possibilities, dangers and possible solutions when translating. The translation involves a study and an introduction to two cultural universes. Therefore, the exercise of translating is an exciting intellectual adventure full of exciting discoveries, not only for Hispanic readers, but also for the thousands of Arabs who read in Castilian, both Hispanists at Arab universities as many Arabs studying in universities Spanish.  Míkel of Epalza has a degree in Philosophy, in Ecclesiastical Catholic philosophy and theology and a doctorate in Semitic Philology at the University of Barcelona. He has taught at the Universities of Barcelona, Lyon, Tunis, Algiers and Oran, Autónoma de Madrid and Madrid Comillas. Since 1979 teaches "General translation from Arabic to Spanish" in the Bachelor of Translation and Interpreting and Islamic Degree in Arabic Studies. He has published numerous translations from French and Arabic into Castilian and Catalan.  Mª Jesús Rubiera Mata has a doctorate in Semitic Philology at the Complutense University and was an associate professor of Arabic literature at the university until 1982. Since 1985 he is professor of Arabic Language and Literature at the University of Alicante.  Eva Lapiedra Gutiérrez has a degree in Semitic Philology at the Complutense University, Masters in Euro-Arab Studies and a PhD in Arabic Philology at the University of Alicante, where he is a professor of the Department of Arabic and Islamic Studies. He has also taught workshops at the Toledo School of Translators and has authored several research papers in his specialty.  Conception Vázquez de Benítez has a doctorate in Semitic Philology at the University of Madrid, professor of Arabic and Islamic Studies at the University of Salamanca and specialist in Arabic medicine and lexicography Hispano, a subject which has published important editions and translations of Arabic texts.  Joaquin Lomba Sources doctorate in Philosophy from the Complutense Univrsidad degree in Semitic Philology Univrsidad of Granada.Fue the professor in charge of the Department of Arabic, Professor of Philosophy and currently professor emeritus at the University of Zaragoza. Also added was a professor of Medieval Philosophy at the University of Navarra and Professor of Philosophy of Secondary School of Almeria and Murcia University.
