To revisit the social landscape of the sixties in Chile lived and rastrojeado by the devastated working class. Something like resorting to a certain sentimental archeology to warm the eye and see again the cruel landscape where aromas of misery, ocher tusso of conventillo, smells of the mierdal callampa, where the indomitable heresy of poverty fluttered to the four winds. Perhaps, from this and other truths, Carmen Pimentel's book speaks to us in the form of snippets, confessional writing, population whispers, the uncertain grasp of a reality submerged in the social unconscious, in the urban wetlands of the sad and ugly winter. But is there pretty poverty ?, maybe not, but there is colorful poverty and folkloric poverty in the Caribbean. Unlike our brown, threadbare poverty, eaten by the salt of the mud, and the thundering rumor of the black water that mourned the numb winter, the humble winter where humility, rather than virtue, was simply a miserable color in absolute lack of means. This book is made up of interviews and pale voices on the stripped map of Santiago's survival from that time, where the metropolis that today is the smug capital of Chile was built. Pedro Lemebel Carmen Pimentel Sevilla is a clinical psychologist, doctorate at the Universidad Mayor de San Marcos in Lima, institution where she taught until her retirement. She lived in Santiago between 1962 and 1971. She later became a professor at the UNAM in 1974. In 1983 and 1984 she was a lecturer and lecturer in Washington and New York, invited by the Institute for Policy Studies. Isabel Letelier.
