San Sidonius Apollinaris (* Lyon, 431 or 432; † Clermont-Ferrand, 487 or 489) was bishop of Clermont. Auvergne defended against the Visigoths and writings are an important historical source, in some cases, cause controversy, as in his references to the teodoricianas Laws that contradict the statement of St. Isidore of Seville to mention as the first legislator Eurico Visigoth. He also wrote about 24 poems of pagan themes and some 147 letters.
