Tamara Djermanovic, born in Belgrade in 1965, studied comparative literature at the university of his native city. Since 1991 he lives in Barcelona where he is currently professor of Slavic literatures and aesthetics at the Faculty of Humanities of the University Pompeu Fabra. He created and directs the Slavic Studies Seminar at the same university. He has done several studies on Russian literature, especially on Dostoyevsky, the subject of this book. He has also directed his attention to artistic figures as Rubliev, Malevich and Kandinsky, and films such as Andrei Tarkovsky. Is a contributor to various cultural magazines and writes regularly in the newspaper "La Vanguardia".
